Happiness researcher Dr. Sonja Lyubomirsky and Twos co-founder Ricky Leoni Sceti are inviting people around the world to meet someone new every day this September.
Through Twos, participants are connected with a new person for a one-to-one conversation each day, creating opportunities for new perspectives, unexpected connections, and a break from everyday routines.
The challenge lasts 30 days, with participants simply returning each day for another conversation—and some may even find themselves matched with Lyubomirsky or Leoni Sceti.
The challenge is inspired by research from Lyubomirsky’s lab on the potential benefits of acting more extraverted. In one experiment, both introverts and extraverts who were asked to behave more outgoing than usual for a week reported feeling significantly happier. More recent research from her lab suggests that acting more extraverted may also reduce loneliness and have benefits for your immunity.
Lyubomirsky emphasizes that the goal isn’t to change your personality, but to experiment with small, intentional moments of sociability and see how they affect your well-being.
